Welcome

Fantasy Girl was made as an assignment on by the people of Snowstar Records’ Donna Blue, and I had only 6 weeks to work on it.
-
At the beginning, I had some issues with working on how to get this done; What medium, what the music invoked, what the end result is going to be.
To be honest, that was the most difficult part of the whole project. After some guidance from some teachers, I managed to work up on the concept through noting down what findings I got in a Excel sheet.
Over the time, I managed to work out the rough draft: “Two stories, one fantasy.”I managed to find over 9 hours of content for the videoclip through Archive.org, an archive for media, to fit the music. The feel of the 50’s throughout the 80’s kept returning every time I listened to the song.
Eventually I settled to two hours of footage to retrofit the song. One of them was Penny Serenade, and the other was The Big Blur. Both had this feeling of drama to them when I went through the movies.
My main stake of the videoclip was the lyric “I’m waiting for your love”, and went with the cadence of “finding love” as the general theme. It didn’t worked exactly the way how I got out, but I was happy at the time and it still holds up nicely.
I might redo this in the distant future as this project was rather fun to do.
But on my own time. ;) -

Pretty neat, huh?
A venture that I like to watch and to work on is cinematography. My initial cinematography works was to give a breath of fresh air to the norm.
I honestly do smile at the little works I’ve produced, and it’s a small stepping stone to greater things.
Online Media
Offline Media
Besides online media, I invest my time also on making offline media such as making a magazine.
The projects I’ve made so far are made through Adobe InDesign.
Within this part of my abilities I am able to develop into more and more.
Animated
Flowstate
Every time I work on an animation, I strive to make the best works I can make.
All works that I make is done via After Effects, which had a steep learning curve.
But with some time and dedication, I was able to make amazing things!
ROC Awards 2017
Nearly every year (don’t quote me on this) there’s an event held over at the vocational media-oriented school ROC Midden Nederland called “Golden ROC Awards”, which is a play on the Golden Globes thing.
I was tasked to make the leaders and bumpers and still hold pride in it.
Project Splatwave (2019)
Sometimes the music really inspires me to make some animations to go with. This was an concept I have presented to the EDM artist Emdashe.
About
Hey there!
My name is Lamar Carty. I make a lot of stuff during my study at the University of Arts Utrecht, the Netherlands.
I have currently a preference in making Offline Media – magazines, posters, promotional work, etc. – but I am not shy of making Online Media as well.
My works are mostly commercially oriented, though it doesn’t mean that I cannot convey emotion into my works. It only takes more time to make it happen. In most cases, my passion is what flows through every work I’ve made so far, and I even got an award for one of them in the past!
Well? Convinced?
